As others suggested, I reduced the coffee to 3/4 tsp and increased the salt to 1/2 tsp. I smelled the mixture and it seemed like something was missing so I added 1/4 tsp garlic powder. The changes definitely made it a keeper.

I followed the instuctions of all the ingrdients, except the coffee. Others had stated it was too much, so I used half. Meat was tender and delicious!!!!

Loved the steak with the coffee flavor. Had it with NY sirloin. Made the cucumber salad which was also delicious! The whole dinner was fabulous.
Cant wait to have it again. It was great with margaritas!

loved the recipe, easy and delicious! only one word of caution, if you cannot have caffeine in the evening, you may want to make this for a lunch rather than dinner, I had a hard time sleeping myself.

The key is to taste your rub after you mix it up. Too much coffee flavor? Add a little more spice. Too much spice? Add a touch more sugar. I really enjoyed this meal. Also, I cooked it on an indoor grill so mine had the grill marks that everone likes.

This was so quick and easy. My daughter, who never eats steak, loved it! I will definitely make this again. I also made the garlic fries. I started them first, then did the steak while they were in the oven. Both were DELISH!

I made this using a beef tenderloin, and it was outstanding. The meat was so tender and moist, and the spice mixture was awesome. We like spicy, flavorful stuff, and this sure fit the bill.

I made this full meal (the steak, grilled onions, relish and garlic fries and LOVED the entire meal. The flavor on the steak was delicious and spicy, the grilled onions and relish were great alongside the steak and the fries were AWESOME (they definitely rival the traditional fried version.
