I agree with Louise! I thought the flavors were delicious. I love buttermilk and Greek yogurt. I felt a bit guilty about the mayo but followed the recipe. Next time, I may add more broccoli. I shredded the carrots and the stalks myself. I just loved the toasted sunflower seeds! Thanks Ellie! I love your recipes!

I loved this -- used the bagged broccoli slaw -- just added some fresh grated ginger and a very tiny amount of Splenda. Also instead of the sunflower seeds (forgot to get them I added 1/2 bag of crunched Ramen Noodles to give some crunch (also cheaper than the seeds! My husband liked it and he is not fond of this type of thing. A great dish for a party or pot-luck as it goes a long way.

We did not care for the flavor of this dressing at all. The combination of yogurt and buttermilk was just too much. My husband said he wouldn't care to have it again and I agreed.

I would give this five stars except that I changed it from Ellie's original recipe.
I didn't have buttermilk so I used low fat sour cream (same thing, less water.
Also, I left out the yogurt completely. so many people didn't like it and how much sauce do you need for 1 pound of broccoli stems and 2 carrots to swim in? Now the sauce is similar to a blue cheese dressing base. I used 1 tbls of lemon juice and 1 tsp of mustard along with 1 tsp honey. I mixed in some chopped parsley and sliced scallions. Is it the same recipe? Maybe... but it was really excellent :-
My husband, who is not known for superlatives or speaking like a Harry Potter character, said it was "magical". My kids laughed. Case closed.

I saw this recipe this morning and I had ALL of the ingredients in the frig. I had a bag of broccoli slaw and some buttermilk left over from my carrot cake and I eat plain yogurt almost daily. This was delicious! I like tangy slaw, but this really wasnt that tangy, just not sweet. I even shared some with my neighbor!

If you are expecting something along the lines of a sweet cole slaw this isn't the recipe for you. That being said, it was very tasty and had a nice tang to it. It made a great topping for my turkey burger. My only complaint was that my food processor shredded the ingredients a bit too finely. I think this would have been better with a coarser shred (like what you'd find in the pre-bagged stuff. It was a great way to use up broccoli stalks, though.

I agree that it was lacking. It needed a little onion for some extra flavor and if you're use to a sweet and creamy slaw, it could definately stand a bit of sweetening. Overall though, as a healthful alternative to the high fat kind, it really isn't bad ... just different.

I saw this recipe on Ellie's show this morning and went shopping to get the ingredients. (I used plain yogurt. Then I logged on to print the recipe and was dismayed when I read the reviews. I had all the stuff, so I thought I'd give it a try anyway...and I'm so glad I did! It was yummy.

I'm a new fan of Ellie's show. The recipes are simple and delicious...and they happen to be healthy too. BONUS!

(Now I've got to figure out what to do with the rest of this buttermilk.
