I didn't have any problems with the squares crumbling but I did use regular peanut butter. I'm a peanut butter lover and the flavors were perfect. Healthier than the conventional marshmallow rice squares and less calorific too.

I didn't make it exactly the way she showed. I had been wanting to make bars using Honey Nut Cheerios and honey roasted peanuts. When I saw this episode, I found the perfect way to bind them together, healthier, and perfect with my theme! It is really sticky. Keeping them in the fridge turns them very hard and brittle. I left them out on the counter afterwards, and they were perfect at room temperature. Next time, after hardening in the fridge, I'll leave them out for a while to soften them before trying to cut.

The flavor was good I liked the dried fruit I used dried cherries and dried blueberries and I like the idea of using healthier brown rice cereal, HOWEVER these things after hours and hours of refrigeration they still did not hold together and crumbled as soon as you picked it up. You could make this recipe with brown rice but you would have to put marshmellows like normal rice crispy treats. They would still be healthier than normal because of the brown rice.

The combination of flavors is very tasty. However, I could not get mine to solidify into bars. Is it possible a bit of butter is needed? I compressed the mixture and chilled it, but ended up putting all in a bag and eating as a snack. Might also make a good cold cereal with milk. Seems like something is missing.

This recipe actually tasted very good. I really enjoyed the dried cherries and didn't notice the difference at all with the healthier brown rice cereal. However, they didn't hold together at all! Only after several HOURS in the fridge was I able to cut out an individual bar, but even then it crumbled terrible as soon as I took a bite. I didn't dare serve them to company and only find it worthwhile to eat them with a bowl and spoon. I don't think I'll be making them again.

I love this recipe. It's easy and really good. Next time i will add just a little bit more honey to hold it all together better and maybe some white chocolate chips--I know, I'm cheating!!!
Thanks!!

My husband loves the traditional Rice Krispie treats, so I thought I would make these for a healthy alternative. He loved them. Of course, they do not have marshmallows, so they have different taste. These are quick and easy and I will make these again.....

These treats are delightful. The dried cherries are a refreshing change from chocolate! The texture of the crispy brown rice is more satisfying than crispy white rice. The only problem is that they tend to break apart more than traditional crispy treats. I am going to try more sticky stuff the next time I make them.
