The flavors blended well in the fridge after a day. It reminded me of the salad my mother used to make in the summers when I was a kid. I used a sweet onion and added tomato as well. Not salty at all, I rinsed and drained the vegetables well.

My parents loved it. I made as one of our sides for lunch today & I was not sure if they would really like it. I have nothing left. They raved about it. Thanks for making this as easy to make & follow as possible.

This was a nice change up from the traditional creamy cucumber salad (with sour cream. It is not salty at all, if you follow the directions and rinse! This was great and the dill really made the salad pop! Loved it.

I made the mistake of assuming the salt was meant to go in the dish and was wondering why it was so salty. Then it was pointed out in another review that it was to be rinsed off. If I had followed that step this salad would have been delicious. It still wasn't bad even with all the salt!

For any person that has complained about the salt, did you drain and rinse the cucumbers and onions? The salt is meant to draw out some of the water from the vegetables, but it's not meant to be left in the dish. Make sure you READ the directions first before complaining. That said, this is a wonderful salad and side dish.

Make sure you rinse the salt off of the cucumbers. I changed the onion to sweet onions. Dressing: Juice of one lemon, 1/4 olive oil, 1 tesp Greek Oragano and 2 tesp dry dill.

I make this salad almost every week. I add fresh picked chopped tomatoes and only use about a tsp of salt plus a tsp of cracked pepper. I increase the vinegar and sugar a bit to have more dressing. It keeps in the frig for days and I just add to it as the garden comes in. Very cool and refreshing salad.
The longer it sits the better it gets.

I've never been a big cucumber salad type of person but I decided to try this recipe and I really liked it. Next time I will use less salt though. I skipped the vinegar all together and just added a bit more white wine and it was amazingly delicious! I recommend trying this recipe out!

The sherry vinegar adds a nice flavor. I had no problem with saltiness as mentioned by other reviewers - I did rinse the salted cucumbers and onions very well before mixing with other ingredients.

this recipe is good, even when substituting the sugar for splenda - my only complaint is that the onion still has a distinct bite to it and doesn't fully mellow out leaving your mouth with that raw onion taste
