Made these tonight, and they are great. I used dark chocolate chips instead of the bittersweet. My daughter said they were amazing!

I think this is a pretty good low fat brownie recipe (compare the butter/oil in this to the others on the FN website. However, you have to be very careful not to overcook the brownies. That is what really causes them to come out dry. I would have preferred to take them out of the oven with a moist toothpick, but waited until the middle was cooked and it led to a dry product. I'll freeze the leftovers and mix it with ice cream or in a trifle. Not to be wasted!

This recipe is perfect. I used vanilla yogurt, 2/3 cake flour and 1/3 whole wheat. They came out with a cake substance and a great brownie flavor. Some of my guests lopped vanilla ice cream on top.

These were a hit for dessert tonight! Paired with Ellie's classic meat loaf (topped with homemade BBQ sauce and broccoli-slaw, they hit the spot. Try drizzling caramel on top after they come out of the oven--delicious!

I think I must have messed something up because not only do these brownies not taste like chocolate, but they aren't even sweet at all. They're bitter and dry and almost taste dirty. They look lovely, but weren't what I was hoping for at all.

I'm pregnant and have been wanting brownies, but my husband only likes them from a box. I wanted something healthier so I tried these. But I followed the changes that a review suggested.
She recommened: 1/2 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 white flour, 2 eggs
1 tbsp canola oil, 6oz yogurt , 1/2 cup applesauce
they came out super moist, and my husband loved them. I sprinkled some mini chips on top to make them look pretty: I will make these from now on!

My sister and I made these tonight in a rush. But they came out good, a little dry though. When melting the chocolate I added a little milk because the consistency was a little funky. We also added a half a cup of chocolate chips at the end which was bad... but so so so good. I think next time I may add another egg yolk and maybe some cinnamon. But I would definitely recommend these for a quick dessert that is light, quick, and delicious!

I made these once before and could see how they'd be dry. But I read a lot of the comments and actually ended up making Ellie's double chocolate brownies - the only difference is the amount of chocolate. I made these for a party friday night and everyone LOVED them! I made a few changes though and these made all the difference: I did the 1/2 c. whole wheat and 1/2 c. all purpose floour, 2 large eggs, 6 oz. of yogurt (one of the individual cups, 1/2 c. unsweetned applesause, and 1 tbsp. canola oil, and I added chocolate chips into the batter at the end for a gooey consistency. You have to cook them longer - about 35 minutes. Just watch them closely after 30 minutes. They came out gooey and light and perfect. I even added another twist to the second batch I made. Instead of plain yogurt I used Dannon's coffee flavored yogurt - OMG it is so good. It is not overpowering but you can tell it's there. I'm going to keep this and make these over and over again!!!!!
