I made this last night. This was my third attempt at making a dessert with tofu in it, so I am a little familiar with the consistency tofu offers. I did switch out the brandy for coffee as one of the other reviewers mentioned and I also froze the treat for a few hours before I served it & this made it more like a fudgcicle, which was tasty, but not what I was going for. (Kids would love! Fortunately, we did not finish all of it (there were only 2 of us and it is way too rich for that so I thawed it out in the fridge overnight and couldn't resist this morning trying it out and it was the perfect mousse-like consistency! This is a good dessert, but also as one of the reviewers mentioned - not one to dazzle at a dinner party, which is the 4 star rating. Will make this again, when have the patience to wait a few hours during a chocolate craving.

Who knew tofu could be turned into such a yummy dessert? Very creamy and chocolatey--a little cream on top and we didn't miss all that fat and calories one bit!

This mousse was so good. My boyfriend was saying how good it was whilt he was eating it. I didn't tell he that it was made with tofu till he finished it; and he didn't care because he couldn't tell. I didn't add brandy because I didn't have any so I substituted in coffee, which made it taste more like chocolate. Going to make this again.

This mousse came out thick and rich. But I would definately put semisweet chocolate instaed of bitter and cut the amount of sugar. Will make it again !!

What a wonderful (almostguilt-free dessert! The last time I made it I used Nutrasweet in place of the extra-fine sugar and it was just as blissful. Thank you for this extraordinary recipe.

I agree with reviews I read before trying this recipe. I was surprised. It was very tasty and could not tell there was tofu in it (although I did have to put in 2tbsp brandy to cover the funny aftertaste. My only experience w/ tofu was a tofu-turkey years back. It was like eating a warm sponge and needless to say I was intrigued that this worked so well. I must say that it is definitely not mousse, more pudding but very tasty.

I found this recipe to be surprisingly rich. I would have never guessed it contained tofu. It had a very smooth velvety texture and rich taste. I used Kahlua instead of brandy and 1/4 cup of half and half instead of water. Scharffenberger was a good choice of bittersweet chocolate. So easy, no one will guess that either!

This rich, chocolately treat comes together quickly. Just make sure you prepare it at least a couple of hours before you serve it. I adapted a bit, based on the ingredients I had on hand. I used one semi-sweet chocolate-orange bar, and because I didn't have any brandy, I thought Triple Sec would make a nice compliment to the chocolate. It did. I used the whipping attachment on my hand blender instead of a food processor, and the mousse came out airy and fluffy. Didn't bother with the whip-cream garnish and opted for fresh raspberries instead. The flavour was nice, and you wouldn't suspect it was made from tofu. But I found it just a little on the bland/watery side (in taste, not texture. A nice way to dress up or use left-over tofu and a pleasant weekday dessert - but not something I would serve to wow dinner guests.

I'll be the first to admit that I thought Ellie had lost her marbles when I saw her prepare this using tofu. I just couldn't see the connection between soybeans and chocolate, BUT THIS WAS FABULOUS! Rich, creamy, delicious and most of all healthy. I used Splenda instead of sugar, so that was just an added bonus for me...and my waistline. This was my first time tasting and using tofu for any recipe. This was truly and incredible dessert.
