THANK YOU ELLIE! As you might know it's a lot of pressure to be gay and fabulous. Entertaining is such stress, but thanks to recipes like this and Dark Chocolate as a snack, I can remain the talk of gay society. I do have to admit at last nights dinner event I went a bit rogue and placed water in large glasses. I served this to my guests, who were shocked by the continual level of elegance I was serving up. I gave a shout out to you, telling everyone this was Ellie's recipe: Cold Water as a Beverage.

I substituted lamb fries because I was told they were nuts...
They may sound like the same thing, but trust me, they're not.

Delicious. I combined this recipe with several OTHER classic recipes here. I added the fruit, nuts, dark chocolate, rosemary, dish towels, a baked potato, cheese platter, Paula's English pease, and some popcorn kernels and combined them all into one dish. Everything into one bowl! DEEEEEEELICIOUS! Yum yum yum yum yum yum! I just can't wait to try this again with some other fantastic recipes on Food Network.

I am utterly astounded at the zen-like simplicity of the directions for this recipe which belie the incredible complexity of the actual task at hand here. I, in fact, took the directive to "combine" these ingredients in the sense of full-on genetic manipulation, and, as I fancy myself a modern day Gregor Mendel, I have spent the last several months combining the DNA of a variety of both fruits AND nuts to create the ultimate "fruitnut" (as I have creatively come to call it. This is truly a breakthrough to the future of snacking, and I thank Ms. Krieger for her insight and forethought into this innovative mixture of cuisine and biotechnology.
Now if anyone could just assist me with this whole "drying" thing, that would be really helpful.

Much too complicated recipe, as it requires botanical knowledge. Walnuts and almonds are both nuts and fruits. If I make this recipe with dried and unsalted walnuts and almonds, how do I tell them apart? Which requires 4 tablespoons, and which only 2? If I just mix the walnuts and almonds equally, will the recipe still work? Next time, please provide simpler recipes anyone can make.

I'm not sure how I got along before The Food Network because these recipes have changed the way I feed my family. It goes without saying that not everyone can cook, so it's great to have these simple "recipes" to help those of us that are challenged in the kitchen. Plus, it's nice to see that FN has someone like Sandra Lee to show everyone that even though you can't cook you can still have a show on FN. It's inspiring.

Next time, perhaps you could tell us that we have to REMOVE THE UNSALTED NUTS FROM THEIR SHELLS.

This would go great with dark chocolate as a snack, but I’ve misplaced my recipe for that.
(That's for you, Filet0Fish.
