I made these for a small gathering at my house after a Thanksgiving morning run, along with Ellie's Apple Muffins. Very good, and really pretty with a fig slice on top. I've been eating the leftovers for breakfast every day. Thanks for a really great recipe! I will definitely make again!

Love these muffins my sister who has never tasted figs was a bit sceptical she was asking for some to take home. They are moist and delicious better than the 500 calorie muffins at the store. I also took one of the muffins to work and offered three of my co-workers a taste they were blown away could not stop commenting on the taste.
Thanks Ellie for another good recipe

Easy to make and taste so healthy compared to the store bought bran muffins which are so sweet. I used apricots instead of figs and made 42 small muffins.

I adore this recipe. My figs were unsulfured and somewhat dry; after chopping I soaked in very hot water for about 5 minutes, drained and patted them dry before adding to the batter. My muffins were moist, light and had great fig taste. Next time I make these muffins I am going to add orange zest.

Great recipe. I use Raisin Bran cereal, dates instead of figs since I didn't have them, and Almond or Soy milk. I also use ground flax seed instead of oil and they come out great. Filling not heavy for a healthy breakfast.

I used 1 cup of raisins instead of figs, oat bran (instead of all bran, and brown sugar instead of molasses because I didn't have any. A solid muffin recipe.

I love not using refined sugars, these muffins are so perfectly sweet and moist I never would have guessed healthy cooking could be this delicious!

This is the second muffin recipe of Ellie Krieger's that I really enjoy (the first is her apple/applesauce muffins, I made this recipe because I wanted to use a package of dried figs that I let get a bit too dry. I used whole milk because I just happened to have part of a small container of it and this was the perfect way to use it up. (I hate waste! These are delicious!

This is one of my favorite muffins. I eat one almost everyday at breakfast and what's nice is that I don't feel the need to eat another one after because they are filling. I use the plain no sugar added applesauce and have started to add either dried apricots, dried cranberries, or raisins with the figs as well. Many of my friends and family have asked for this recipe and are now making them too!

it was my first baking experience ( from scratch. i replaced egg with 1 banana as we are vegetarian. during 2nd try i did not add applesauce as my 1st try tasted bitter. without applesauce it tasted good. it didnt rise as store bought ones, but still tasted good and its homemade - so even better!!!
