Great recipe! I made the marinade and let it set overnight. For the lettuce, I went with a bagged blend with carrots, radicchio, radishes, etc and a little heavier on the fresh herbs. The dressing makes everything taste so fresh and flavorful! This was packed with flavor and none of the guilt :-

I left this recipe to marinate overnight and the flavor was delicious! I also added a few veggies to my salad to give it a little crunch (which is a healthy addition. I always go to Ellie Krieger for healthy recipes with flavor!

Fantastic dressing! The only thing is that this salad needs veggies. I added juienned cucumbers, red pepper, and grated carrot to the salad. And I used thinly sliced red onion instead of shallots. Serious perfection!!!

I have never written a review...but this recipe I have made over 15 times and it is a HUGE hit each time.
First, I multiply the recipe by 5x as my husband likes a quart in the fridge for dressing on ANY salad. And I buy 4 flanks steaks at Costco and freeze a half a cup (plus of sauce with each flank.
estimates are:
So I put 1 cup each lime juice (plus zest of all the limes, oil, regular soy sauce. 3/4 cup brown sugar, 2 heads of garlic, 1/2 cup ginger, 1/8 cup red curry paste....and blend (I add the oil in slowly so it stays mixed in fridge better. taste and add what you like.
The best EVER recipe.

I gave this recipe a try this week and I loved how the steak came out with this marinade. Wonderful flavors. My bf made a different dressing for the salad with fish sauce instead because the authentic thai salads only use fish sauce. We added some kaffir lime leaves in the dressing and it tasted way better than this one thai restaurant we usually go to.

This salad was incredible!!!!! We called it a total flavor-fest!. I did add some fresh mint to the salad and a little more heat. When we grilled the steak outside after marinating all day it carmalized and had the most wonderful flavor and texture. Really this is a no-brainer for all levels of cooks.

This recipe is fantastic! The herbs in the salad give it such great flavor, and the marinade makes the steak so tender. Plus, it's guilt free. Thanks Ellie, you rock!

Marinated the steak about 8 hours and added some red pepper flakes to the marinade as others recommended. My husband loved the whole dish and I thought it was good but definitely needed a little bit more kick. Next time I might add more red pepper flakes to the steak marinade. Also, no basil b/c 2 stores were out of it. I'm sure that would of enhanced the flavor of the overall dish.
