I think the sodium is high because of the ham. You could probably lower that by getting low sodium ham, or using mushrooms and omit the meat all together.

I think that if you wanted to make this a bit healthier, you could substitute the english muffin for a whole wheat tortilla, use just 1 egg, and add in 1/4 cup minced chives with the beefsteak tomato and some lemon juice. add a sprinkle of low fat cheese to the eggs, too!

Sodium is too high.May be the whole wheat used.I in good conciousness cannot eat this knowing there is over 900 mgs. of Sodium. This is not healthy for anyone with the salt.May be "better",not a good, sound choice for one meal/snack of the entire Day.Why 1 Star, which I seldom give...

It's OK, but I'll stick to my own homemade Egg McMuffin: a whole wheat English muffin, one whole egg, one slice reduced fat American cheese and a couple of thin slices of reduced sodium deli ham. I don't want tomato on my egg sandwich, but I'll enjoy it on the side.

I made this today with two eggs whites and just a touch of yolk from one of them. I too noticed that the cheese is missing from the recipe and I used two very thin slices of cheddar. Very Yummy!

This sandwich was hearty and tasty, but it could have used just a little salt because it was bland.

So good! I didn't have chives so I used dried fill instead. This was a satisfying sandwich that filled me until dinner! Thanks again Ellie.

I don't know about this being heart healthy? It uses egg yolks, and
canadian bacon and doesn't call for anything low fat. I am on a heart diet, and could never touch this puppy.
