I used pepper Jack cheese, and 1 slice of turkey bacon and it was so delicious. I made it for friends and they loved it some added jam, very good.

I saw this episode of "Healthy Eating" yesterday morning and made the sandwich this morning for breakfast. On the show, she uses a 1/2 ounce slice of cheddar cheese on the sandwich. I don't know why it's missing from the recipe. I made it exactly the way she did on the show, and it was delicious. I really liked the idea of using one whole egg and one egg white. I agree with some reviewers that this isn't exactly a recipe per se - it's more of a healthy twist on an old favorite - but when it comes to eating healthy, don't we all need some new ideas now and again? I think so, and I also think this sandwich is a great example. I will be eating this for breakfast a couple times a week now. Thanks, Ellie!

I'm sorry I should have said how great Ellie is before I commented on the sandwich. Yes she is very creative and one of the best. I usually check out her site first and sincerely wish there was more of her at FN besides the butter queens. Sorry, the sandwich was not a hit, and unfortunately anything is healthier than McDonalds.

ACTUALLY, ELLIE IS VERY CREATIVE. I WILL DEFINITELY TRY THIS. THE POINT ALSO IS TO GIVE PEOPLE ALTERNATIVES TO THE NORM. THANKS, ELLIE.

Love the 4 eggs w 4 egg whites and tomato idea. However, the bacon, American cheese, and English Muffin even if wheat is fattening McDonalds. Nothing creative there.

As far as Null goes, she should be voided as she is never creative as her dumb remarks appear all over the FN site and Martha's too. Most of the time, she does not even make the recipe. Her dumb remarks are very unappetizing .

I loved it. It was very simple. I added warm spinach on top of the tomato, because I have a ton, and I enjoy it. All in all it was cheap & delicious. It gave me the energy I needed to get through the morning! I will make this often when I need a change from my normal oatmeal.

I have not yet tried the sandwich. It looks great. BUT, the picture of the sandwich shows that there is a slice of cheese on it, but no where in the recipe does it have cheese listed. I hope it does have the cheese. Looks yummy and I will try it.

Wow, this recipe not only is time-consuming (who has 30 minutes to prepare breakfast these days? but with a sodium content of 900 mg, this packs almost half your recommended sodium intake for the whole day into one little food item! Removing the Canadian bacon and cheese, both high in sodium, definitely improves its potential, however, although it's not as tasty.
