Served these at our Super Bowl party yesterday and they were a touchdown! Simple to put together; I prepped the skewers with the olives, basil and grape tomatoes in the morning and just added the warmed through sausage just before serving. I used a chicken sausage that contained tiny bits of apple and maple syrup.....sounds weird but was extremely good! I will use that sausage again in other ways. I was turned off at first by the description but it turned out to be quite a find. There was just a hint of sweetness and it paired so well with the other items on the skewer. These were simple to make, looked fabulous on a pure white platter and were devoured by grateful guests!

These skewers were great! I put them on toothpicks and made them more bite-sized by using a smaller slice of chicken sausage, and a half of cherry tomato with the half of kalamata and basil. They disappeared in a hurry!

A great party finger food. I used Spicy Chicken Gouda sausages that I bought at Costco. I didn't have calamata olives so I used spanish olives and that was fine. The basil/tomato combo was great together. This is a very versatile recipe in that you can add cheese, different olives, etc.

Used this idea for a wedding shower where the guests (bridesmaids and mothers actually prepared the food that was served. All of the prep work was done and they just assembled the skewers. They loved the colors and the healthy option on the menu. Fun and easy for new chefs.

What a great recipe. This was very easy to make and looked great on a platter. I made it for a picnic and everybody raved about the flavor. There was a woman who hates olives and after trying one of these, can't wait to make it for one of her parties. You'll probably be seeing more excellent reviews from the women I gave the recipe to.

I used cheese cubes instead of sausage (as one reviewer suggested and they turned out wonderfully! So simple to make but really delicious and they look really pretty on a platter. People at the party were quite impressed -- I didn't bother to point out that it was simply cheese, tomato, olive, and basil :

This recipe was pretty simple to make and was good. Make sure then sausage is warm because once it gets cold it is not as good.

I couldn't find fresh basil so used fresh spinach. Not quite as good but did ok in a pinch. Plenty of flavor in the other ingredients and everyone loved them!!
