What an incredibly wonderful snack! I added a bit of shredded coconut whatever dried friut I had on hand. I loved how easy and fast it was to make, and can feel good about the fact that it is a healthy addition to my diet. Remember, DIET is not a bad word. Your diet is what you eat.

I read all the great reviews and decided to make this. I love yogurt and granola any time of the day. I omitted the raisins and added a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. This granola, hands down, takes the cake! It TASTES like granola should taste with hints of all the right flavors! Say goodbye to those nauseatingly sweet store-bought kinds and say hello to this granola with REAL flavor. It also, once you buy all the ingredients is comparable in price because you can easily make several batches. I am even thinking about how I can package this stuff up for Christmas gifts or hostess gifts. It is delicious! Yet again, Ellie, you make a normal American eater one step closer to being a health food nut!

I don't think I'll ever buy store bought cereal ever again. Although I used these ingredients, this is a wonderful basic recipe that you can definitely personalize with your own combination of fruit and nuts. Instead of pure maple syrup I used a maple syrup and agave mixed syrup I found at my local Trader Joe's (less calories and added a pinch more cinnamon, just because its one of my favorite spices to smell/taste in the morning. It was just the right amount of sweetness. I can see why Ellie adds it into her gift baskets. I'm tempted to make a second batch already because I know this is going to be my go to for everything. Yum.

I just made this and have only tried it warm out of the pan, and I have to say it is delicious! It will make a great cereal plain with milk or with some fruit. I omitted the raisins, and used fewer nuts because I wasn't sure how my kids would like it, but next time I think I'll use all the nuts called for in the recipe. It is so easy and so yummy!

I have no idea where the user who said it was bland got that from, unless they are used to the processed store-bought "sweeter" granola. I made this last year and realized I never wrote a review. I'm actually getting ready to make more in a few minutes. I absolutely love this. It's great for breakfast and snacking because of the protein content. Very healthy and full of taste. I omit the raisins because I'm not a huge fan of them, and I add a little extra cinnamon because it's my favorite spice. Although this is fantastic as a cereal all on it's own, I usually add it to yogurt and fresh fruit in a bowl (usually bananas or apples. It keeps forever in the fridge, and it's my favorite breakfast in the summer when it's hot and you want something cold. THANKS ELLIE! :

I love making my own granola (don't like store bought but there is so much oil in the recipes I have used. Thank you for a healthier version that tastes great and is easy to make. I substituted dried cranberries for the raisins, otherwise followed the recipe exactly.
