After reading prior reviews I took care to slice bread thick and bake an extra ten minutes. While the bread portion was not soupy, it was bland.

The peaches were wonderful, the egg mixture needs something, maybe a spenda, some salt and some almond extract or nutmeg.

This is my first time baking. The French toast turn out to be quite palatable except that I did not add peaches. I added apple like some others who suggested as peaches in Singapore are not economically friendly. : Overall was quite good except the base and the sides which was a bit charred. Probably because mine is a small oven. The next time I will try to put it in oven for 30-35mins instead of 40mins. That's all!

I love this because it has lots of protien, which is important for breakfast. It's also quick to make the night before. I like it for when we have to leave in a hurry the next morning. Even if we don't have time to eat it at home my kids can it it from a plastic bowl in the car because it's not messy. As long as I don't cook it longer than 40 minutes it's firm yet not messy. Thanks Ellie, you're the best!

This is really easy and very tasty. We added fresh blueberries (and used fresh peaches. Instead of the baguette, we used a whole wheat bread w/ walnuts and dried cranberries. The vanilla yogurt is very nice addition -- no maple syrup necessary. The leftovers are tasty, too! Thanks, Ellie!

a tasty recipe but as written leaves toast a little soggy. would recommend increasing bake time or decreasing amount of milk to 1/2 - 3/4 cup. of course, this all depends on how thick your bread slices are. we used a fresh loaf with thickly cut slices and still needed to cook things a bit longer. overall, a VERY easy to prepare dish that we will make again. the suggested sides (canadian bacon + vanilla yogurt were an excellent compliment.

This is a great alternative to regular french toast. It's very easy to put together Saturday night & then just pop in the oven Sunday when we wake up. Mmmm.

This had a good flavour. The only draw back was the egg was still runny after the cooking time so I ended up cooking this double time. I think next time i would cut up the bread into cubes like another recipe I have.

The key to making this dish a success is the thickness of the bread you use. I bought a loaf of bread, unsliced, and made my own thick slices. After this step I cut each in half so they would fit into the pan better. If you don't make the slices less than 1/2 in. thick you will not have a "runny" dish after baking. See if that works for you. It was delicious!
