I tried this recipe and hubby and I both really liked it. I did realize that I was out of apple cider vinegar so I used balsamic and white wine mixed and it turned out fine. We both thought it need some spice, so I added a bit of cayenne and paprika.

This recipe was easy to make and it was delicious. The liquid smoke really gave it an authentic bbq flavor.

I cooked this for dinner on 7-27-08, after seeing the episode. My husband and I really enjoyed it. Instead of the lettuce on the sandwich, we used some of the Caraway Seed Cole Slaw (same episode as a topping. Reminds me of BBQ sandwiches I had as a child in the deep south, only healthier. I will definitely be making this again!

We were excited to see a pulled pork substitute where we didn't have to simmer the meat and sauce for hours. The flavor is so good it's like eating at a BBQ place, I think th eliquid smoke really makes it. Doubling the recipe worked out fine.

My husband does not like red sauce or anything sloppy joeish, he is that picky! He liked this! I added half of the water because I like a thick sauce. This sauce has many uses...grilled on chicken, baked...I can't wait to experiment with it!
