This is an amazing dish! The flavors are layered, yet blend very well. I would give this 6 stars if I could! A sidenote: make sure grapefruit is in season when you try this. I think it would make all the difference if the grapefruit wasn't at its peak sweetness. This is my No. 1 winter dish!

I'm giving this recipe one star because it is really all about the sauce, which I thought was all wrong for salmon. A really nice piece of fish requires very little in regards to sauce. It seems like the creator of this recipe was looking for a citrus alternative to the traditional lemon. Unfortunately, grapefruit is overpowering and the fish was lost in the sauce. I think this is a good recipe if you are trying to get someone to eat fish who doesn't like the taste of fish.

Fantastic flavor pairing! The grapefruit takes a little bit of the fishy out of the salmon, while the salmon sweetens the bitter of the grapefruit. Made this for my parents, we all loved the bright flavors and colors. My mother said she would like a dress in those colors!

BIG SUCCESS! Only wish I had used bigger salmon filet. The filet I had to use had skin on it, but still delicious nonetheless.

Didn't have basil so substituted that with mint leaves. No grater so I had to manually chop up the shallots and ginger. Used less ginger than what the recipe called for and lessened the amount of honey for my diabetic mom. Tried to proportion the sauce ingredients for 5 salmon filet and just barely made it.

I didn't strain the pulp from my grapefruit juice when I juiced it because the recipe didn't specify if I should or not. Made the resulting sauce slightly bitter than it should be. If you're going to make this, be sure to strain your juice!

My husband and I both liked this. I don't like salmon, but he does, and I LOVE grapefruit, but he doesn't. This dish was a great compromise! The only change I made was leaving out the cayenne, since we have young kids. Unfortunately, the kids still didn't like it. But we thought it was great! I served it with couscous and steamed asparagus, both of which were excellent with the extra sauce that spread across the plate. Will make again!

So amazingly balanced. I love citrus with fish, and this is so creative to use grapefruit. Love and use often.

I have made this recipe multiple times and absolutely love it! I would have never thought to use grapefruit with salmon, but it works out nicely. Definitely recommend you try this!
