This recipe was one of my favorites! I made it with my lovebear, and it was a lot easier to prepare than it seemed. We were able to get it nicely browned during the first part of cooking the pork chops. The seasoning on the pork was just right. The slaw was also very good, with the sweetness of the apples balancing the pork and the cabbage absorbing all these flavors. Great recipe, Ellie!

My husband and I made this for a late dinner. It was so easy and was quite refreshing. We cooked everything in our 6 qt dutch oven which worked very well. We also cooked the pork a little longer than the recipe specified. I am not normally a pork eater, but this was delightful and delicious.

This recipe will become a staple in our household. I made a few changes based on recommendations here and what I had on hand. I used dried sage, extra garlic, boneless pork loin chops, sweet onion, a Golden Delicious apple and water instead of chicken stock. I cooked the pork a bit longer (15-20 minutes and I added the produce in stages - onions first, then carrots, then apples, then cabbage. I also needed a bit more olive oil to prevent the chops from sticking. I might leave the stock/water out entirely next time. Delicious!

This recipe is easy and delicious. I plan to make this again and again. The slaw was awesome the next day as a snack.

I love so many of Ellie's recipies (warm spinach salad, shrimp with feta and tomatoes, chinese chicken salad but this one is a stinker. My Husband thought the sage was overpowering. We both love cabbage but the slaw was not good, we tossed it out.

I made this and my husband and I loved it. I made a few changes: I used a pork loin and sliced it in 3/4" slices so I had medallions (2-3 per person I did not have any fresh sage so I used ground sage and it came out great; I also forgot to add the chicken broth and just added the vinegar and it came out fine. When I warmed it up the next day, I added just 1/4 cup of broth, and it was just as tasty. If I make it next time I will decrease the carrots and add another granny smith apple. All in all, though, I really liked this recipe and will make it again.

I made this spur of the moment and had all the ingredients on hand. It would be much easier and quicker to buy a ready-made slaw mix, but the food processor quickly shredded everything although the pieces were too small for my liking. I thought the cooking time sounded a little short for pork, but my husband was late so the chops ended up simmering in the slaw mixture in a covered pan for 20 minutes so no worries. It turned out tender and flavorful. My husband has requested that this recipe make a repeat performance.

And simple to make also. Especially if you use pre-cut cole slaw mix. This recipe is being saved to the recipe box for repeat performance someday.

What a great idea to use apples as a sweetner!! My husband is a very traditional pork chop lover but we both loved this recipe! The sage smelled SO good while the chops were cooking. My husband even used the extra slaw on hot dogs, so at least it added some veggies to his day :
