By far the best Shepard's Pie I have eaten. For the people who reviewed this, sorry it was delicious, as you cook each part you adjust the salt to your liking. Mine came out so flavorful. This will be a staple. Thanks

ok only because it is healthy. Got by with it since my husband had never eaten a traditional shepherd's pie but he said he'd rather have the ingredients on a plate separate. I thought it was bland, even though I added worstershire and spices and salt and pepper. Probably won't make it again, but won't miss since it's not a staple dinner menu for us.

As other reviewers pointed out, this recipe is a little bland, but with all the right elements. Just add some additional galic, salt and Worcestershire sauce and you will be set.

It was ok... Kinda bland. I had to add much more salt and garlic. next time i will add only half the amount of cauliflower because i would have liked to taste SOME of the potato. In the end I will make it again with just a few tweaks.

Sorry Ellie but this one was a miss for me. The beef and vegetable mixture had so little flavor that I wound up adding lots of other things just to give it some flavor. I added worcestershire, garlic powder, red pepper flakes to the filling. I caramelized some onions and added to the top before the potato, cauliflower topping. I did like the addition of cauliflower to the potatoes. This might be a good family meal as it's bland enough for picky kids but we like more flavor.

We loved this! I added a little bit of worcestershire sauce because I can't imagine making shepherd's pie without it. I also added more salt to everything (including the beef, the onion and carrot mixture, and the potato cauliflower mixture. I didn't put mushrooms in because I do not like them, but I added everything else. I couldn't taste the cauliflower and almost forgot that it was in there, which tells me that kids and reluctant family members won't notice either. = Will definitely make this again.

This was very good! Yes, it took me two hours to make, but it was worth it. I was skeptical about the cauliflower because I don't really like it, but I honestly couldn't taste it. I used ground sirloin and reduced sodium beef broth, as instructed in the recipe. I didn't really change much, I may have used whole milk because I didn't have low fat on hand. Some tips - I found it hard to steam the potatoes and cauliflower so they were soft enough to mash. I ended up boiling them and they were soft enough. Perhaps steam them longer, or just boil them, but I think boiling gets rid of a lot of nutrients.

Really easy to make and tastes great. I omitted the mushrooms and sprinkled fresh Parmesan on top of the potato mixture. Was a hit!

Much easier and better than Melissa D'Arabian's Shepherd's Pie. I would serve this one to company. Very very good recipe! Sometimes simple is better!
