Mine was a little bit bland. I used more meat so I should have used more of the other ingredients. I will try it again. I liked the idea of adding the beans for fiber. This was like chili but I did not add the jalepenos. Carol

I don't believe in "diet" recipes. Normally, I find them to be not worth the effort it takes to make them. However, I decided to take a chance with this one. Well, I have to step back and rethink my stance. This was really good! My son prefers a very slight sweetness to tomato based sauces so (as weird as it seems I threw in a couple of packets of Splenda and that seemed to make it work for him. And now that I've finally cooked my first recipe from the Food Network, I'm sure many others will follow.

This recipe is fantastic. THese are the best sloppy joes I have ever had. Better than any restaurant's.
They are so easy to make.

I'll never use the canned stuff again. My husband is picky and I know he would have lost his appetite after seeing whole beans in his 'Joes so I pureed them in my food processor and mixed in the bean mash to the filling. He was none the wiser. Also, I realized at the last minute that I had run out of molasses, so I used a tablespoon of dark brown sugar instead. Delicious!

These had a wonderful flavor and it is just as quick as something that comes out of a packet. The reason I gave it 4 stars was b/c the filling would not stay on my bun....I think by mashing some (or all of the beans and making sure you dice the oninions and pepper small it would help remedy that.

My whole family LOVES this recipe! I reduce the amounts of garlic and jalapeno, and the kids gobble it right up. The joes have so much flavor, and aren't overly salty like pre-made sauces usually are. A much healthier version of a comfort food classic!

This is a very good recipe! I made this for dinner and my wife and I enjoyed every bite! It has a great deal of flavor and I will make this again. I also like the idea of adding beans and red peppers to Sloppy Joe?s. If you like heat added to your food, I recommend sprinkling some hot sauce on top of the Sloppy Joe?s.
