I just love this recipe! I did use beef not turkey and I wasn't sure about the beans but WOW, it was really really good!! I actually served it open face on half a bun and it was better. The flavors are amazing. I agree with someone who said it would be good with pasta too. It totally would! Next time I am going to add more spice though, I like things really spicy!!

This was a good one, although I wasn't a fan of the beans. I think I would leave them out if I make it again.

Excellent! My husband loves sloppy joes and grew up on Manwich (YUCK I was skeptical, because I have never made sloppy joes because I don't like them, but since this recipe had 5 stars I thought I'd give it a shot. It was EXCELLENT according to my husband and his friend. My husband was very skeptical of the beans when I was cooking it, but he ended up loving them! I didn't have tomatoe sauce or puree, so I used stewed tomoatoes in place of the tomatoe sauce and ketchup in place of the puree; it was perfect. I'll deffintely make this again for my Husband! It was an absolute hit.

This is a fast, inexpensive, easy week night meal. I made it exactly as written & it turned out great. I was surprised how flavorful it was! It is not spicey at all, so add more jallapeno if that is what you are looking for.

A definite keeper!
Much better than the canned stuff. Lighter with fresh, bright flavors. My grandkids won't eat a lot of beans, so I put only a few. The one jalapeno pepper was just fine for them, but if I were making this to serve to adults, I'd probably use two and definitely add all the beans. Super little recipe. Thanks.

I was surprised how much I loved this! I substituted ground turkey for the beef, added chopped green pepper, used grainy mustard instead of the powder and added two minced chipotle chile peppers in adobo sauce. The addition of the chipotles made the Sloppy Joes very spicy (for me, not my husband but the flavor was fabulous! I must say I disagree with other reviewers and don't feel that sugar needs to be added; it didn't need additional sweetness for us. Another note: there is no way this would feed 8 people. Between my husband, who is admittedly a big eater, and me, we ate nearly 1/2 of the recipe in one meal.

My family and I enjoyed this recipe. It was easy to put together and did not take long to execute. I omitted the beans and tomato paste since I didn't have any on hand. I added a 15 oz. can of diced tomatoes and 1 Tablespoon of sugar.

Very delicious! I did make a few changes due to the ingredients I had on hand. Used ground turkey instead of beef. Didn't have the bell pepper or molasses. Grated up a carrot and some celery to sneak in veggies. I didn't have any tomato sauce. I was generous with the tomato paste amount. I didn't add beans. I used fire roasted tomatoes with jalapenos and anaheim peppers with the juice. Added 1 TBS of brown sugar. and allowed it to simmer for about 20 - 30 minutes. Will definitely make this again and again. Thank you Ellie for sharing this recipe!
