These were SO good! Definately my permanent sloppy joe recipe. You could even throw this over some penne pasta and it could be a replacement meat sauce. Excellente!!!! :D

Excellent. I left out the molasses and added 1/8 tsp. red pepper flakes. We loved it.

What a great recipe!! Who would have thought jalapenos and red peppers would help to make a tasty Sloppy Joe! I'll never buy Manwich again - it's Sloppy Ellie's for me!

Great hit at our football party!! I did not add the jalapeno or beans but added about a tsp or two of chili powder and a can fire roasted tomatoes - enjoy!

One of the better sloppy joe recipes we have ever used. Fairly quick and affordable, the kids chowed it down. Really blends well with sharp white Vermont cheese. Served with the garlic fries.

Good receipe. Makes the house smell good. I missed one ingredient, red wine vinegar. Will have next time. Used wheat buns and baked sweet potatoe fries. Good meal for football. Oh and used ground turkey. Fiance enjoyed but he did not ask for seconds. Hopefully because he ate two in one sitting!

Very recipe. I never follow a recipe exactly, but was close (using what I had on hand. I substituted green bell pepper for the red, used a can of undrained spicy chili beans, only an 8oz can of tomato sauce, and I thought it needed to be slightly sweeter, so I added 1 tbsp of brown sugar Splenda. I didn't add any extra salt since I used beans & tomato sauce that were salted. Everyone LOVED this. Definitely will make again. The recipe is forgiving, so feel free to use what you have on hand.

I made this recipe for my husband and I, and we both LOVED it! I was missing a few ingredients (bell pepper, jalapeno, tomato paste, so I had to make due. I also substituted the onion for shallots since my husband doesn't like onions and shallots have a milder taste. I left the bell pepper out completely, but added ketchup in place of tomato paste and a trader joes salsa verde (has jalapenos in it instead of jalapenos. Laslty I used half ground turkey and half 90% lean ground beef. YUM!!

I just finished making this for my husband. I don't eat red meat because of the taste but I decided to taste it just to make sure the seasonings were ok. I LOVE it!!! I did make some changes according to what I had on hand. I didn't have any jalepenos or red pepper so instead I added a little bit of cayenne pepper and chili powder. I also added dijon mustered because that's all I had. I think I'm going to go make myself a sandwich!

Made this tonight following straight by the directions...came out great. Just like a good sloppy joe but way more tasty and nutritious.
