These were pretty good! I did add extra chives and some garlic powder to give a little more flavor. Definitely a good base recipe.

Eh... This was OK. But was I expecting super yummy, full fat mashed potatoes? No. I had to keep adding a little bit of this, and a little bit of that herbs & seasonings to make them not so bland. It was an OK substitute for mashed potatoes.

I added some fresh minced garlic cloves or you can use garlic powder. Great lower calorie smashed potatoe recipe.

I'm a mashed potato girl who traditionally loaded my mashed potatoes with butter and heavy cream. I've reformed my ways and have joined weight watchers. These satisfy that itch! I made them exactly as written and loved them. I've got ideas for variations on the theme for next time: drop some garlic cloves in to the pot while steaming the potatoes; or mixing in a little prepared horseradish . . . I could go on.

Felt like the potatoes needed something more. Still, they were good for what it was.

I have always boiled my potatoes, what a great idea to steam. Doing that from now on. Great basic recipe that one can tweek to combine herbs from whatever meat/chcken dish one is doing.

Great side dish.... I steamed them in chicken broth, and then was able to use the already heated broth for the mashing!

I enjoyed these mashed potatoes even more than the standard type (with tons of butter. The use of stock combined with sour cream seemed to do the trick. I did season with kosher salt and fresh pepper and served with meatloaf, peas and homemade gravy.

This recipe also converted me from a boiler to a steamer for my mashed potatoes! They just seemed to have a better texture and flavor and with red skinned potatoes, not too starchy.
