I enjoyed these mashed potatoes even more than the standard type (with tons of butter. The use of stock combined with sour cream seemed to do the trick. I did season with kosher salt and fresh pepper and served with meatloaf, peas and homemade gravy.

This recipe also converted me from a boiler to a steamer for my mashed potatoes! They just seemed to have a better texture and flavor and with red skinned potatoes, not too starchy.

These were the most bland potatoes I have ever made. We are used to very flavorful mashed potatoes, and these did not hit any spot. Luckily I had seen another Ellie Krieger recipe where she used fresh parm, so I added alot of that. Won't make these again.

Not alot of fat for mashed potatoes, and still very delicious.

I served these w/the Pork Medallions w/Cherry sauce from this same episode... great pairing, and so delicious. I also served corn and cole slaw...

I really loved this recipe but I aggree that it needs a little extra flavor. The second time I made it, I added a few dry herbs and it really helped.

I might have made them wrong but they were just okay. Not disgusting but nothing to write home about either. I'm Irish and i grew up eating mashed potatoes with lots of milk and lots of butter so maybe i'm biased.

This was standard smashed potatoes with a twist. I actually added some bacon that I used to reduce a sauce for some chicken. Mmmmm this was good.

I have made this twice now. First time I did not have any chives so I used chopped up scallions and included the green part. It tasted great but wasn't much of a crowd pleaser with my 11 year old (too much onion flavor. Second time I made them plain without the chives or scallions and didn't care for them much, it has too much stock flavor without the seasoning, so I wouldn't recommend making these without adding some seasoning for additional flavor.

This was a great potato recipe/method. Obviously, the protein and carbohydrate values on the nutrition info were reversed!
