Everyone loved this dish! I accidentally added twice the amount of cinnamon and purposefully added extra nutmeg. I put in the spices before the egg so I could taste test it...just a tip. It came out deliciously sweet without being overwhelmingly sweet like some other sweet potato casserole dishes. And I really like that it uses honey instead of lots of brown sugar and butter. I will definitely make this a Thanksgiving staple.

Really good. The second time I made this I substituted pure maple syrup for the honey (didn't have any on hand and maple sugar for the brown sugar and it was even better. Excellent.

I followed the recipe exactly and it is amazing. Healthier version but it's still sweet but not too sweet like other recipes, which I prefer. It was a big hit last thanksgiving and was asked to make it again this thanksgiving.

I have made this recipe numerous times and it was delicious every time. I do add a generous amount of pecans, definitely a keeper, thanks Ellie!

I have never made sweet potatoes before, but I figured I would give it a shot. It turned out great, I could personally go for some extra pecans, but they sure are expensive. I replaced the honey with artificial sweetener and vanilla extract just to knock off some calories. Also, if you don't have a steamer you can just bake the potatoes like a baked potato then cut them in half and peel them by hand after they cool. Was thinking about adding some cream cheese next time I make it. But its super simple, and gives a great smell to the house!

When it comes to the holidays, I would never think to mess with my family's candied yams, but this is a great recipe for weekday meals. My boyfriend said, "I know you have made me tons of amazing things, but this is my favorite." He then finished of the whole pan. They are the pefect sweet to savory ratio with a great crunch from the pecans. I like steaming veggies opposed to boiling them to reduce the break down of nutrients and I try to use yams as much as possible because they are jam packed with nutrients. I added a generous pinch of cayenne to the topping to add a kick and nearly doubled up on the seasonings.

I wasn't too happy with this recipe. I LOVE sweet potatoes and I didn't think it was sweet enough. I couldn't taste any of the spices, just plain sweet potatoes.
