I don't think I would make this again. I had to add a lot more spice (chili powder and cumin to make it edible for my family.

This chili was great! It was full of flavor and just the right amount of spice! It's a great recipe that fits my college lifestyle. I would definitely recommend it to the college student looking for something delicious and inexpensive.

I agree with other users that the recipe needed chili powder. I thought without it the tomato taste was too strong and it was bland to me. I added about 1 tsp garlic powder and 1 Tablespoon plus 2 1/2 teaspoons of chili power. I just kept adding until I got it right! I also simmered for about 3 hours and it thickened up a ton. I didn't originally add the water after reading reviews but ended up adding it part way through because I thought it was too thick. Other than those changes I thought the base recipe was pretty good.

Flavorful and Easy! What an excellent recipe. It was oh so good. I tooke this over to a friend's house to enjoy with him. He raved about it. I thought it tasted great! It had just enough kick. I actually let it simmer most of the afternoon, so it got nice and thick. This is a keeper and I will definitely make it again.

Let me start off by saying that I am an avid chipotle hater, so I was fully expecting to despise this recipe...That being said, I absolutely loved it! It was very quick and easy, just the right amount of zip. I really didn't alter the recipe at all except to throw in a bit of minced garlic and a few shakes of chili powder...just on principle. I put in the amount of water that it stated praying that it wouldn't be too watery and it wasn't. We had this meal with cornbread which made it mild enough for my heat hating four year old to eat it. All in all I will make this recipe again. It made a believer out of me. :

I'd have to agree with many of the previous reviews. I added garlic, because what garlic lover wouldn't? I also sampled the recipe without the chili powder and felt it was lacking without. I added about 3 tablespoons of chili powder and WOW! The leftovers also make for a mighty fine quesadilla!

I'll be the first to admit that I'm NOT a good cook, but this receipe looked easy and tasty.....it turned out ok, although I discovered I'm not a big fan of the adobo sauce I guess.....the chili didn't seem to be full bodied or extremely tasty....more bland and yes, I followed the receipe exactly except adding some chile powder as some reviewers suggested....ok, but will try something else next time....

delish.....this recipe was my first attempt to make chili and my husband and I loved it,,,I have made it a few times already,,,although i always go easy on the chipotle and adobo but only because I have a sensitive stomach for spicy food.
