I wasn't crazy about them. The toothpick came out clean at 30 mins so I took them out, spread the preserves and let them cool. Then I tasted a piece and it tasted kind of raw to me. I put them back in for another 5 minutes to see if that would help, but I doubt I'd make them again.

Like a homemade nutrigrain bar only 10x better. Soft and chewy and so good!

These were delicious. I made them for a work lunch with some health-conscious co-workers and they were a huge hit.
I used 1 cup of cherries because I really love dried cherries, and I also added about a half teaspoon of vanilla. I love the combination of cherries and walnuts with vanilla. I baked them for exactly 30 minutes, and I think any longer in the oven and they would have been too dry.
Also, I sprinkled chocolate chips on half of the batch just to try it... they were really delicious with the chocolate chips!

I followed this recipe exactly except for the nuts and was perfect. I was definitely able to taste that the nuts were a missing element. Next time I will make them with the nuts and they will be even better!!!!

I followed this recipe EXACTLY and it was horrible. I made it for a school snack and had to throw it away and make something else. VERY dense and dry.

Well, I doubled this recipe thinking I would freeze some and have a healthy breakfast for a few weeks. Good plan until my husband discovered them. I added sunflower seeds and a mixture of dried cranberries and dried cherries (both are available in the bulk department of our local Whole Foods. Delicious and satisying. I'm looking forward to trying them with combinations of dried fruits, different nuts and different suger free preserves; maybe fig? 7 points in the new Weight Watchers point system.

LOVE THESE! I have made these twice this week so far.
First time I followed the recipe exact- they were a huge hit.
Second time I added a combination of walnuts/raw chopped almonds. For the fruit I used dried cherries, dried plums and dried apricots. And added some chocolate chips!! (how could this be bad right?! lol I spread raspberry jam on half and strawberry jam on the other. They came out amazing!!! I will definitely be making these all the time, using different variations.
One question though, should these be stored in the fridge or is countertop fine?
