I just finished making this and it was great! I didn't have all the ingredients (orange zest & cilantro, I cut the recipe in half (but still added a full cup of sugar as I like it really sweet, and used a different seasoning mixture (Suzie Q on the chicken. It took awhile to reduce to a glaze (about 30 minutes, but be careful because it can become really thick quite fast. It took about 45 minutes to bake the chicken. I think the glaze needs to be basted on throughout cooking as the top of the chicken wasn't coated as much as I would like. Use foil on the pan or dish as the glaze can get baked on and a pain to clean off. Highly recommended! Enjoy!

This chicken recipe was delicious, it had a lot of ingredients, but they went so well together. The chicken really came out with a lot of flavor and very moist

The flavor of the chicken was excellent, but reducing the sauce was a bit tricky! After reading the reviews I knew it would take much longer but after 45 minutes it still didn't reduce. I had to add some corn starch and that helped a little. The only thing I can think of is that I used fresh squeezed O.J. (fun project for my son and maybe that didn't give it enough sugar? Not sure but I'll try it again. I served them at a party and everyone loved them.

** I gave this one more shot and it turned out perfect! Although it does take double the time to reduce. I used store bought OJ this time but I don't think that matters. I'm not sure what I did the first time but I'm glad I made it again and I changed my review from a 3 to a 4 (because of the amount of time it takes to reduce. YUMMY!

I've made this recipe several times and love it. I've even doubled it for a large group of family and friends. It is a great recipe.

It was delish nice and spicy which we love. we will defenetly make this again. i was skeptical because every recipe I have tried before from another cooking network was yucky. using the foil to bake the meat is a must the sauce those get baked on like another review mentioned. i also omited the mirin simply because i could not find it at the supermarket, but I will get it for next time. The aroma around the house was amazing as the sauce cooked the children were anxious for dinner just by that and they really loved them as well. this is a keeper in our home.

These drumsticks had such great flavor and it was very easy to make. It kind of reminded me of General Tso's sauce but with a kick to it. Instead of making the seasoning, you can actually buy the Bayou Blast (Creole Seasoning at the grocery store. I made enough sauce so I could pour it over the rice I served as well. I will definitely make this again and will probably try it on chicken breasts next!

Scanning the ingredients, I was afraid how the sweet & spicy flavors would mix together. That being said, I made a few modifications to mute the citrus and sweet flavors:

1 Reduced the sugar by about 1/2. Yes, you read correctly.. half
    2 Omitted the orange zest
3 Used only 2/3 the total juice called for

With these modifications, it turned out just to my and my fiancee's liking. As others have mentioned, the sauce took longer to thicken than the recipe stated, but I was in a rush so I threw it in the oven after heating / stirring on the stove for 20 min, and it still caramelized on the chicken just fine

This recipe is amazing. I was so impatient waiting for the sauce to thicken! Then, when you put it on the chicken it gets a little stiff and you'll get a little nervous. However, the magic happens in the oven and it's a huge suprise! These far exceded mine, and my family's expectations. It's spicy, sweet, and so rediculously juicy! Definitely try this recipe!

Wow - lot's of flavor for not a lot of fuss!
Simmered the sauce for extra 10 minutes and turned out great! Only thing was that I saved some sauce in the pot (to add to the chicken at end and it almost solidified completely thus making it useless. So I used the drippings from the roasting pan to drizzle on afterwards. My advice is to also line your pan with tin foil for easy clean up.
