    Most excellent recipe. I made this cake for a co-worker for her birthday; served it with macerated strawberries and whipped cream. I DID NOT use the lemon in the glaze; it was WAY too strong. I used water instead. Not only was it better, but it added an interesting texture to the top of the cake. It was a hit at the office. I left work that day with empty containers!

    Great recipe-much better than Ina Garten's-worth the extra time-can also skip the glaze and serve with whip cream and berries.

    It turned out perfect and tasted very good. I did't make the lemon sauce, instead I used macerated berries. I wish it would have been a little more fluffy though.

    Cake is delicious - the lemon topping was strong, sugared strawberries were better. Recipe is a keeper!

    Made this cake and was the best. You will not like store bought ones again. Plan to make it with Splenda being Im a dieabetic. Tastes just as good after a few days and does not dry out or get hard.

    so good and differant than the box cakes, this is nice to make for a special time. Great with Strawberries
    or Almond Icing too.
