Awesome. Did add more butter to the topping, but other than that my whole family ate it up!

I felt this topping was quite dry, but the pieces of apple that were below the liquid line were perfect. I'm not sure, but I think if I try this recipe again I will cover it with aluminum foil to hold the moisture in. I also used a 9 X 12 baking dish.

Measurments for recipie ingrediants are wrong. Too much liquid for filling, too much flour for topping. After cooking, all is too runny to serve, and topping didn't cook at all. This recipie is disappointing and not worth the time.

This apple crisp was delicious! The topping was definitely too dry, next time I won't use as much flour. I ended up melting some butter and drizzling it over the top to fix the dryness.

My family loved this apple crisp. I will say that I added about 1/4 cup apple juice to the liquid mixture and I added another 1/2 stick of butter to the crumble mixture.

THis recipe is real good. THe topping is too dry, so I'll add more butter to the crumb mixture next time. I used granny smith apples. I like my crumb topping crispy. When it came out of the oven the crumb topping looked the same as when I put it in. More butter needed i think.

Delicious! I used tart apples (granny smith and macintosh so that the end result was not too sweet with the specified amount of sugar. Also, I did add an extra 1/2 stick of butter to the crumb topping. One more thing... I added a handful of dried cranberries to the apple mixture which also added to the tartness. It was not watery and the crumb topping was crispy but not too dry or too moist. It was really a great dessert, and my kitchen smelled divine while my guests were arriving. Thanks Emeril.

I used Granny Smith, Golden Delicious and Gala, was a little tart for me. Topped with ice cream. Will make again but will try a different combination of apples.

It was really tasty, but the crumb topping was dry in spots! I followed the recipe very carefully! I would add more apples and and I would add a bit more butter to the topping.

I have been searching for the perfect apple crisp recipe for so long and finally I found it. The water mixture made all the difference in the world. There was a delicious, bubbly sauce surrounding the apples and mixing with the crisp, which I have never been able to achieve. I do not like overly sweet desserts- so I simply put more apples in the crisp. I put in 3 Golden Delicious apples that were a little under 1/2 pound each, and 4 Granny Smith apples that were a little smaller that the golden delicious apples. As far as the crust being too dry, I agree. It needs a little more butter, so that there isn't any extra dry flour or oatmeal after mixing in the butter. Previous reviews had said that they reduced the amount of sugar, then got a watery result- well that is because you cut out some of the sugar, the sugar is what thickens the sauce. Also if you cut the amount of flour in the topping- it will be too sweet. Try this recipe, and just use a few more apples!!! You will LOVE it, unless you are crazy!!!
