I found this recipe in an old Emeril cookbook. I have made it several times for Christmas and it is always a hit with guests and family. It is rich and creamy with a slight sweetness. It goes excellent with a holiday ham. This dish will continue to be a family tradition in my house.

I found this recipe online. I made it yesturday for Easter. It was very good. I didn't know that Emeril's Essence Seasoning was so very spicy. I think we will make this again without the seasoning.

I too made this for an apple themed party and got rave reviews. The pan was completely cleaned in 10mins! I followed the recipe exactly as written and it was perfect. I'll be making it again this Thanksgiving because it was the best au gratin I have ever had.

This is a very rich potato casserole that should be served with a beef tenderloin or similarly simple entree. It is subtly flavored and rich, Absolutely dee-lish.

Apple&Potato Gratin is absolutely wonderful! The apples and potatoes blend perfectly together and the nutmeg and gruyere complement the slight sweetness of the apples. A great side dish if you're looking for something that isn't just regular potato gratin. My spouse and I halved the recipe (which works wonderfully - just used an 8"x8" baking dish instead and it still could have served 6 people as a side dish easily. Can't wait to eat the leftovers!

My mom in law made this for Thanksgiving. It was so good I asked for leftovers and am making it for my Christmas dinner.

This recipe was suggested by my friend who was hosting our "Apple Themed Girl Get-Together." I was a little nervous about if after reading the only review- that the potatoes didn't cook. I don't have a mandolin either, so I spent quite a while making sure the potatoes were super thin. No problem! They could have even been thicker. It was absolutely delicious and it was quite a hit at our Apple Themed Night. I'll definitely make it again!

I did not see the show. I picked the recipe from the recipe guide. I followed it to the letter. I do not have a mondolin but I sliced the potatoes very, very thin. They did not cook in the time specified. I even allowed more time but they would not cook. The flavor of the recipe was great but uncooked potatoes are not. Very disappointing.
