    My 10 year old and I made it for Grandpa's 85th Party. We had
    a brunch, easy to serve, very satisfying and
    simple to relax once we got to the gathering.

    Great made with soft (good bread crumbs. I added more freshly grated nutmeg which gave a nice spicy crusty topping. Nice distinction from the juicy spicy sweet filling. Really good pared with vanilla bean ice cream melting over top. As my parrot Sugar said "Yummy Yummy Yummy"

    While I'm not coo-coo crazy for this recipe, it was a nice change of pace from the regular old apple pie and ice cream. The only thing I found was that the spices (especially the cloves really stood out and was almost a little too overpowering. I admit I don't measure to an exact science...I eyeball it, so it could be that I just pinched too much in there.

    I'm a sucker for hot apple pie and ice cream, so this was a great twist on it with a dash of holiday spice. Served it with Christmas dinner and it was a hit! :
