I made it for our 4 of july block party. The tast and of vineger was so strong it was over powering. out of the 30 people we hade not one person would put the sauce on. The rub was good and thay liked the flaver of the meat.

This was my first time making pulled pork and, thanks to this recipe, it was unbelievably good. I ended up using my own recipe for sauce, but the rub, the basting liquid and the cooking time provided here took all the hard work out of it. try this recipe. You won't be disappointed.

All I can say is.............do all of you who have negative feedback ever cook? This recipe is GREAT!!! Even my 9 year old son said it was my best pulled pork sandwich ever (and he knows good food - thank you Emeril!! The only thing I added were some onions sauteed in bacon fat just before I added the BBQ sauce and WOW!!! Thank you again Emeril for an outstanding recipe that is easy to make.

I made this dish for the superbowl this year and it came out fantastic!!! Like a lot of other users, I put it in the slow-cooker and kept it on low for 10 hours. It fell apart the moment I attempted to lift it up! I will be making this dish again and again and again!

My husband and I love pulled pork and for a while now I have been searching and trying different recipes for this particular meal. We are from the south and this is probably the closest to pulled pork we will get. I made this a couple of months ago, following the directions step-by-step, only making a few changes of my own and those of a few other reviewers. The only thing I did not have for the recipe was the cumin, but the meal was still fantastic! My husband and my girls loved it and I will be preparing it again very soon! The seasoning of the meat, preparation of the Wet Mop Basting and BBQ Sauce were all prepared the night before. The following morning I placed the meat into my crockpot, pouring the mop basting over it and cooking it on low for about 10 hours. Throughout the cooking of the meat I did occasionaly rotate it to be sure all parts of the meat kept its juiciness and I added more of the cayenne pepper. When the meat was fully cooked I placed in a seperate dish, pulling it apart, adding more dark brown sugar and a touch of vinegar. I then placed it back into the crockpot, letting it simmer a little longer (about 45mins. I think what really made this recipe great was the adding of more pepper, sugar, vinegar and allowing it to cook a little longer. This recipe will continue to be a definite in our home!

I make this all the time for gatherings. Sometimes I overnight the pork in a crock pot for convienience, but you won't get the crispy pieces that way. A definite must is the homemade BBQ sauce-that's what really makes it I think. Everyone always asks for the recipe.

I've been making this recipe for a couple of years now and it is awesome. Everyone who's tried it gives it rave reviews, and requests the recipe. I also make the cole slaw, which tastes amazing, whether it is used on the sandwich itself, or as a side. I'll never be without this recipe.

I made the pulled pork and coleslaw for a crowd and while they were very well received, no one asked for the recipes.
I used pork shoulder and cooked it in the slow-cooker. The meat was VERY tender and fell apart. The mop sauce was a tad "vinegary" and the dish a a little spicy overall. I will make this again, but probably not before I try other pulled pork recipes recipes first.

I followed this recipie to a tee and the roast came out atrocious. As a previous reviewer indicated, the meat did not pull apart easily after 7 hours of roasting and basting. In addition, I found the seasoning of the meat to be far too spicey. My house rank of the smell of vinegar. This is nothing indicative of quality pulled pork. My boyfriend took one taste of this roast and suggested sandwiches for dinner!!!! Emeril missed the mark on this one! :(

Used a crockpot to cook it while at work and threw together the sauce when returning. Leftovers didn't last till the next day. Loved the NC style flavor with some extra complexity!
