This was a very good beef stew. I've been looking for a good recipe, and so far this is the best I've found. It was very easy to make. I did have to add more flour to thicken it up, as was stated in other reviews. It surprisingly tasted very normal (like the way Mom made it considering that you add Emeril's Essence.

I make Beef Stew quite a bit in the cold months. Yesterday I thought I would try a new recipe to change things up a bit! Wow, was I impressed.. we were taking some beef out to put on a plate for my 5 and 3 year old and it was so tender and tasty! Usually our problem is the beef is a little on the tough side.. not with this great recipe! Thanks a lot, we were raving about the beef in it!!
Very easy to make and very easy to follow!

This dish is very easy to make, but also delicious to eat! I used beef stock, substituted russet potatoes for new potatoes, and added green beans in addition to the other vegetables. In addition, I added an extra 2 tablespoons of flour towards the end of cooking to thicken it up a bit. My whole family loved this dish--including my picky 2-year-old and a husband that usually sighs with disappointment when hearing the mention of beef stew for dinner. Serve with a spinach salad, and you've got a really delicious meal!

This recipe was very easy and it made a great week night meal. I made up some cornbread batter to make corn cakes but decided to try it in my waffle maker. They turned out great! I served the beef stew on top on my "cornbread" waffles and my husband loved it! This recipe is a keeper in my recipe box.

Great stew. Left out the pearl onions and the mushrooms, and used venison. I was worried about a couple of comments that said 8 hours on high was too long, but mine turned out perfect (I have an All Clad slow cooker purchased 2007, the one with a stovetop-safe insert. Also, twenty minutes of prep is more like it, as someone else said. I added a little crushed red pepper as some comments suggested and a dash of cinnamon (as well as the allspice and it was incredibly good. It will smell like you've used too much cinnamon/allspice but believe me, the taste will be just right for stew by the end. I also thickened mine up with a little Wondra the second time I made it. Many Thanks, Emeril!

I followed the recipe and the comments, I have always been one to season things to my taste. I also used small red potatoes and a can of stewed tomatoes along with some bell peppers (red and green. I think next time instead of the bell peppers (which were delicious I may try green beans.

    Thanks Emeril.

I love this recipe. It's so easy and delicious. I did add a liitle more flour to make it thicker. I also added more essance and cruched red pepper because we like it spicy. This is the perfect winter sunday meal. Good for football parties too.

The Essence really makes the dish, like others had suggested I dredged the bite-sized pieces in flour & essence and then sauted them in the hot oil with chopped onion. I also used a 1/2 cup of red wine. Wow, even my 7 year old loved it! Thanks Emeril

In the past, my stew was lack-luster but with Emeril's seasoning mix and a couple extra shakes of red pepper flakes this on is a keeper and great fore saving time and energy !

I had high hopes for this recipe being an Emeril recipe, but it just was okay for me. I have had better beef stew. Will keep searching for a beef stew recipe.
