Made recipe just as stated, except I made German spaetzle I stead of noodles.
As my Mother always did, keep the sauce and the spaetzle separate till ready to serve. Great quick recipe for stroganoff, thanks Emeril!

I scaled it up for a family meal. We have a 9 person family, and they loved it. Petite Pois peas go really well with it. It's a wonderful weeknight dish1

I would give this 5++++ stars if I could! This was very easy and very tasty. In fact, with the simple ing. listed, I cant figure out where all this flavor is coming from. I did make up a small batch of the Bayou Blast Seasoning. I used a ratio method to downsize it. I used 1/2 tsp measure for the 1 Tbsp measures, 1 tsp for the 2 Tbsp measures, and 1 tsp + 1/4 tsp for the 2 1/2 Tbsp measure. I ended up using more of this spice blend in the recipe than called for because it does add a nice flavor.

I was not asked but told to add this into our weekly menu rotations from now on. I agreed to the telling me because they had smiles and clean plates.

Highly recommended this recipe and spice blend.

We love this recipe so much. We add not essence but emeril's hamburger seasoning. We usually use more beef so more broth and sour cream

Easy and quick to cook, with affordable ingredients. I don't use the essence. We cook this one frequently, it tastes great and the kids love it.

I can see where, if followed exactly, this could be a little bland. I added red pepper flakes at the same time as the garlic (plus a lot of extra garlic and a little worcestershire sauce & ketchup (yes, ketchup because I had no tomato paste and it turned out great! I also added a quarter cup of sour cream because I like it creamier. It's a great fast meal for a busy weeknight.

I first made this back on 2/5/10 and I have made it numerous times since. I cook the onions with the ground beef. My pasta choice is always the wide egg noodles. I also add a can of cream of mushroom soup (for added creaminess. My family and I enjoy this dish ... Leftovers are few and far between on this one!

YUM! I made this recipe even though I didn't have any beef broth or sour cream - here's my substitutions: first, I finely shredded a carrot into the mix and added with garlic/mushroom - get as many veggies as possible! Next, I used some dried mushrooms as the mushrooms, and I compensated for lack of beef broth by using some of the mushroom broth and chicken broth. I also added a splash of red wine and some of the pasta water. As for the sour cream substitution, I used some 1/2 and 1/2 with a splash of white vinegar that had sat for a few minutes and some cream cheese. Next time I will try the way the recipe is written, but the way I made it this time was great!!! Nice taste and I LOVE the spice mix!
