I just finished making these. I did read the other reviews and decided to "double-dip." Yes, it's messy but worth the results. My husband was very happy with the results as am I. I was amazed at how much you can make from one onion! I'll definitely make these again.

I made these tonight. I have tried to make the blooming onion thing but never seem to get it even close to right. I have never tried to make onion rings before. These were just like their name, Big and Crispy. They were great. I will be making them again. My family loved them soooooo much.

Fantastic! My husband and I agree, these are the best onion rings we've ever had. In fact, I'm making them again tonight. They are highly addictive! The only thing I might add is I will double the flour/spice mixture next time as I ran out after half an onion.

"Wow!" said everyone in my family after digging into these delectable onion rings. Listen, I have tried preparing just about every onion ring recipe under the sun-- with less than satisfactory results--UNTIL I tried Emeril's Big and Crispy Onion Rings. Preparation is relatively simply (okay, a little messy, but what onion rings aren't? and the results are well worth the effort. The batter is light and flavorful, and I love how the batter puffs as you lower the onions into the hot oil. So far, with every recipe I have tried, the batter peels away from the onions. Not so with Emeril's recipe. The batter stays put and remains light and crispy. They reheat wonderfully (in a 300 degree oven for about 25 minutes and pair beautifully with just about any main dish, from tilapia to chicken. My very fussy husband asked for seconds, then thirds, then fourths.... Thank you, Emeril, for such a sumptuous and decadent treat. I am in love and will be making these for the rest of my life.

I have tried many before but they were to difficulte or the coating did not stay the onion. These onion rings were great, as a matter of fact my husband they were very good before I could even ask. AND THAT IS SOMETHING OF A RED LETTER DAY!!!!!! THANK YOU ALL AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. This is a keeper. Thanks again.

That's what I said when I bit into one of these. They are phenomenal! I was looking at a bunch of recipes, never having made o-rings at home before, and the reviews convinced me to try this one. I don't think I'll try another. Way too good, I wouldn't recommend that you try this if you're watching your weight or cholesterol. I agree with the reviewer who said that a single dip is just as good as a double dip, I tried it both ways and loved them all.

This recipe makes the best tasting onion rings. I cut the recipe in half and it made more than enough for my husband and I. We could not believe how good they were and so easy to make. These now are our number one RINGS!
