A friend of mine made this for a dinner party and it was wonderful.

I tried the recipe and used huckleberries in place of the blueberries and the cobbler was fantastic. I think this is one of the best cobbler recipes ever! Thank you.

Was it good? Cf course - how can combining sugar, butter fruit and dough not be good. Have I had better? Absolutely. The filling could do without so much sugar as the previous review suggests. The crust might have been improved by applying some melted butter on top of dough before sprinkling the sugar. A good recipe but not a great one.

    The lone voice of dissent:

I was really disappointed with this recipe. I followed it exactly since the ratings where so high, (although I did not do the whipped cream. The final product was really sickly sweet, both the fruit and the biscuits, and I lost all the flavor of the fresh fruit completely. I also found the vanilla note overpowering. I strongly suggest reducing the vanilla and the the sugar in the biscuits. For me, this recipe made something that should be relatively simple and fresh overworked and overprocessed tasting. Not a repeat!

I made this the other day for my son who is a fruit cobbler freak. He loved it! Easy to make, and delicious.

I was looking for a peach cobbler recipe that was a little out of the ordinary. Used fresh Colorado peaches and fresh blueberries, added just a touch of cinnamon. We like our cobbler with half & half or , even better, table cream - certainly not low cal! This recipe is a keeper!

This was a wonderful cobbler as the combination of the peaches and blueberries tastes great and it looks beautiful. The one cup of water I added per the directions worked out perfectly; it was not runny at all. Perhaps the reviewer who had the problem should have added more cornstarch because she added the plums in addition to the peaches and blueberries.

This cobbler won raves from my family on Father's Day. I made 1 addition to the recipe by using plums in addition to the peaches & blueberrries. I think that the 1 cup of water called for in the filling is too much. I used only 1/2 cup & it still made too much juice. I drained more than a cup of liquid from the fruit before putting it in the baking pan. (I saved it to use as an ice cream topping because it was so good. I think I'll try frozen peaches next time to made the dish easier to prepare. If you use fresh, be sure to use freestone peaches. The stones were very hard to remove from ones I had.
