These are really good and easy to make. My only suggestion would be to, roll the candies in crushed, roasted almonds, right after dipping them in the chocolate.

I would recommend after rolling out the bonbons to freeze them to set better! But besides that this took me right back to my childhood!

This recipe is extremely easy to prepare. The hardest part is coating the coconut balls in the melted chocolate -- the 2 toothpick method is the best I've tried so far. My husband tasted one and agreed it did taste just like a Mounds bar, and since he prefers Almond Joy, I was "instructed" to insert a whole almond in the coconut ball for any future homemade bon bons. Maybe I'll do half a batch with almonds next time ( I like Mounds more than Almond Joy... The finished confection is very rich, so one piece satisfies the sweet tooth without incurring a great deal of guilt.
