We made these ribs in our dutch oven while camping and the result was unbelievable. The black beans and crispy potatoes just made it all the better. Lots of effort but one of our top 10 beef dishes ever.

for not much of a result. The beans were fantastic, but the short ribs didn't send me after spending ALL THAT TIME cooking them! I used my pressure cooker for the beans. Maybe this would have pleased me more in the winter as a comfort food rather than in the middle of June!

The meal together was a cornucopia of delectable savoryness (I know this is NOT a word but is should be because of THIS recipe.! The sesame oil with the sushi rice gave it an unusual but great taste. The layering of the dish with the combination was superb!! This is a definite, definite, definite repeat!

This was very good. I added a can (drained of black eyed peas to the ribs and made some white rice on the side w/ some skillet corn. The flavors blended well together.

this was really good. It took most of the day but was well worth it. The only problem I had was I couldn't get the sweet potatoes to crisp up. Must have soaked them too long.

Suffice it to say, there were no leftovers and a lot of recipe requests!

I made this for my fussy eater husband and he said that it was the best thing that I have ever made. Now being a lover of preparing new meals this was a great thing to hear. My home smelled so great during the cooking, neighbors came buy to find out what I was cooking.
    Thanks for the recipe.
