Fantastic! I will make this again and again. It was a hit with the family. I used mostly whole milk and still was perfect. I added chopped onions to sausage as I cooked it. Emeril's recipes are always worth repeating.

Terrific. We riffed on it a little to use ingredients on hand. Made a half a recipe for the two of us in a 8" circular glass casserole. Used homemade sourdough, spread with leftover refried beans and sweet Italian sausage. We're at 7000' altitude, cooked covered for 40 minutes, uncovered for 20 minutes. Perfect.

Very good made this for Christmas morning. I added sausage and bacon. Thought it would be dry but surprising it was not personally I would add more cheese and maybe a dollop of sour cream on top. Maybe next time most importantly it was super easy and easy to remember.

Incredible disappointed. The flavor was off and the texture was terrible.

I added a half onion and a shallot chopped to the grease from the sausage and sauteed until soft. Everything else I did by the recipe. I allowed to sit over night and then baked the next day. I believe the casserole could have been more moist and had more eggs. So if I make this recipe again I will add 3 more eggs and another 1/4 cup of half/half. Also I would add another 1/2 cup of cheese. The Texas toast over powered the recipe as is, however it does give it nice flavor.

I have made many breakfast casseroles, but found that this one is the winner for my picky family. I will try different ingredients each time, like ham and bacon instead of sausage, but the egg mixture is what makes the casserole so good and this one has the green onions and half & half, which I have now found makes it so much better! Also having the thicker slices of bread is another key to a great breakfast casserole.

This last time I made this, I had some extra green tomatoes so I made some fried green tomatoes (with corn meal, egg, milk, and oil and put them on top of each persons casserole slice. The sweet and saltiness of those tomatoes made each bite wonderful. Try it- it just looked so cute and it's really good!

I would like to begin by saying that this recipe needed a little love...
I used day old challah bread, torn up into pieces
    9 eggs
    1 cup half and half
    1/3 cup milk
    2 cups of sauteed mushrooms
I baked the bacon -maple smoked, by Numan Ranch found at whole foods in the oven with a generous sprinkle of cinnamon, 17 min on parchment paper @ 400. Woah is it awesome bacon!!
after greasing the dish I added the bread mushrooms chives a sprinkle of parmasean cheese
I melted one stick of butter with 1/2 tsp of ground nutmeg and cinnamon and drizzled it
    over the bread.
I cut the bacon into thin strips and added it after resting on paper towels.
topped with sharp cheddar and seasoned egg mixture (eggs, milk, half and half, salt, pepper.
REFRIGERATE 12 hours- REMOVE 40 min before baking! bake covered 400 35-40 min. Uncover and top with more cheddar bake an additional 10-20 min

YUMMY ( : 4 stars because I had to change it so much

Good stuff! Made 3 last night, popped them in the oven this morning for Father's Day and delivered breakfast to my father-in-law, my dad and kept one for my husband and us. Everyone liked it. Also made Paula Deen's French Toast Casserole.

I made this recipe a few months ago for weekend houseguests and it was a hit. It is nice to have something good and already made to just pop in the overn the next day. I find that the Wal Mart grocery stores carry the Texas Toast in their baked goods section.
