My cousin made this last year for Thanksgiving and it was the tenderest and juiciest turkey I ever had. And the gravy was incredible

My father-in-law & Grandmom-in-law are very hard to please, and only like traditional foods with no frills. They poo-pooed brining, much less using oranges. I can tell you they ended up eating more than just their words!! And they're coming back again next year for Thanksgiving!!

Some of my family members don't like turkey because they claim the meat is too dry. However, last year I tried this recipe and everybody loved it! It was moist and delicious!
Thanks Emeril,

This is the only way I'll make my turkey now! It's truly wonderful. Substited store-bought stock and didn't use the giblets. It was still incredible.

I saw this recipe about 2 yrs. ago and made it a few days later for Thanksgiving...it is awesome. It made the best turkey that I've ever done. I have since made this 4 times. I found the longer you brine the turkey, the juicier and better the flavor. I use a five gallon bucket that I got from one of the local restaurants, just for asking. They get lots of stuff in bulk, so most restaurants have them available if you ask ahead before you need it.

My husband and I saw this episode of Emeril brining turkey and I thought that it was the silliest thing that I had ever seen. My husband informed me it is the best way to serve turkey and we decided that thanksgiving we would attempt the recipe. We did and MY GOD!!! It is amazing. Not to mention all the fixings that were also shown on the show like the cornbread and andoullie stuffing. We have been doing these recipes for at least the past 3 years. Last we were invited to the sister inlaws.. so did not compare so the next day we created our own thanksgiving meal so that we would not have to wait until this year to get our FAVORITE EMERIL THANKSGIVING MEAL!!!
