Last year was the first time I brined a turkey and I used this recipe. Everyone raved about it and wanted the recipe. The turkey was flavorful, tender and juicy -- incredible! I will never cook a turkey the old way again.

I have not used this recipe but had no other way to ask a question about it. I like the idea if brining the turkey to make the meat moist, but I'm concerned that it will be sweet because of the sugar in it. Can someone tell me how the turkey tastes?

Yes, it is the best turkey you will ever eat, but the gravy made with the drippings is the most incredible gravy you will ever taste. I get excited about Thanksgiving just because of this turkey. The sandwiches the next day are amazing. Try this and you'll never prepare turkey any other way.

I have made my turkey this way for the past 3 years. It's a never fail recipe. The white meat is never dry.

I made this recipe for the fast befrore Yom Kippur. I needed something that would not be too salty and very filling so everyone fasting could do it without getting too thirsty. It was perfect! I will use the recipe again for Thanksgiving.

I tried this recipe a few years ago for Christmas. I had only roasted 2 turkeys before. After I tried this recipe, no one else will prepare the turkey for Thanksgiving or Christmas!! I have become the one in charge of fixing the turkey, thanks to this wonderful recipe!! This is the only time I will actually eat white meat -- thanks to it being so moist. Thanks Emeril!!

Without a doubt, this was the best turkey we've ever had at Thanksgiving. The overnight brining added an extra level of taste and moistness that really sets this one apart from your usual dried out bland turkey. The nice thing here in Michigan is that it's cold enough in November to just let this baby brine outside in the garage, saving valuable space in the fridge! Definitely worth a little bit of trouble!
