    Thought this was a very quick easy pie. It took my pie about 45 min to bake not 25 like the recipe stated.

    I should have been tipped off by the baking time -- most buttermilk pie recipes call for about an hour or so of baking time. I baked mine 40 minutes (after checking at the original time and it was still way underdone. It doesn't come close to replicating the recipe I once had and lost .. I will keep searching.

    Okay, I read all the reviews and went ahead and made the pie because I'm adventurous in the kitchen like that. It is true, the cooking time is incorrect. In a 350 degree oven it should take 1 hour to cook. The trick is, and the directions do not tell you this, but when it's done baking it needs to sit for 1 hour before you cut into it. The center may look a little too "loose" when you take it out but that is okay, it will settle and firm up. Preferably, after it has sat chill it in the refrigerator for about an hour so it cools.

    Just as FYI, with the cooking time for me I actually added 10 minutes so it was 1 hour and 10 minutes total. When I pulled it out of the oven it puffed up so high with the extra 10 minutes but as it sat on the counter it went down to normal pie level ;

    I hope those of you who tried this and bombed will attempt it again with some of my suggestions.. it will turn out better, promise. I actually used Shirley Rooney's recipe off of here because I liked the addition of nutmeg, lime, and vanilla (1TBSP of nutmeg I thought was too much and therefore didn't use as much. Other than the "flavorings" it is the same base-wise here as Emeril's.

    This was a super, super easy recipe to follow with excellent results. I had no problems with it. It tasted as good as the one my grandmother used to make.

    If you alreasdy have a general knowledge of cooking, this pie was easy. After baking the first pie I decided to first blind bake the crust and use only hald of the sugar. After doing that, the pie was perfect for me!

    This recipe has major errors in it. First of all the pie will not completely bake or set in just 25 min. Also the butter says (melted when it should be softened. I followed the recipe to the penny and it was a greasy soupy mess!
