I admit, I took the frosting recipe for another dessert I made (sweet potato bread, and I did not regret it. It tasted so amazing. Roasting the walnuts before adding to the frosting just added that extra element of flavor. Now I just have to try making the cake!

The recipe was great and shared it with friends. I chose it since I needed to use up some buttermilk.
I don't like walnuts so I used pecans instead. It was great.

This cake was easier to make then I thought it would be. I used a 9x13 pan instead of 2 9" pans and the cake was a nice height. You will need more icing if you want to cover in-between the layers and also the top and sides of a 9x13. I just iced in-between and the top and it looked very nice. I will make this again.
