    Made this for a casual dinner party. Everyone enjoyed it. Not as pretty as the photo so I topped it with a sprinkling of chopped pecans and sparkling sugar to dress it up. I served it with homemade sweetened whipped cream instead of ice cream. Yummy, but the cake was a little dry so I give it 4 stars.

    This is a great way to expand on an old favorite. I discovered Trader Joe's box Gingerbread mix is almost as good as the scratch recipe and certainly less work. For a few less calories, use a combination of whipped cream and fat-free Greek style yogurt instead of the ice cream.

    I made this dessert recently for Thanksgiving and it was great! I didn't have time to make the ice-cream although I do think it would have been a bit better even served with store-bought ice cream or fresh whipped cream. It had a wonderful gingerbread taste to it.

    Great and pretty easy. A keeper especially for something different at the holidays.

    I didn't make the ice cream since it was midnight and I was searching for pear recipes before my coffee wore off but the gingerbread was so amazing! Flip it out on a white cake stand and everyone who looks at it will perk up and ooh ahh it and they perk up even more when they eat it!

    I made this as one of the deserts for Thanksgiving and it was unbelievable! Out of all of the deserts, this was by far the best and everyone wanted to take it home! I think everything was perfect and I would love to make a little more caramelization the next time!

    This is highly recommended.....A++++++++

    My co workers all loved this "cake". However I did not serve it warm with ice cream. While it was still warm I turned it onto a cake stand and lightly coverd it with plastic wrap. I have been looking for a new unusual holiday dessert that doesn't envolve alot of difficulty Eureka!! I found it. Wonderfully moist with layerd dimension of flavor.

    This cake looks really impressive -- everyone will think you worked much harder than you did -- and makes the house smell heavenly. Mine seemed a little fluffier than Emeril's did on TV, more cake-like than tort-looking, but still beautiful. And it was delicious, too, and not too sweet.
