I loved these scalloped potatoes, but I failed to read the reviews indicating a longer cooking time! Fortunately, I gave myself time to work with, but definitely plan to cook much longer than the 30 minutes stated. I cooked for an hour covered and another half hour uncovered. Yummy!!

These potatoes are delicious!!! HOWEVER--I did read reviews before preparing, and I think that made all the difference. Like others mentioned, my potatoes required extra cooking time (some of which was uncovered so they didn't turn out "goopy", and I seasoned the heck out out of them with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. I made this for Easter last year, and it was the first side dish to be polished off. My pickier family members only ate these potatoes. There's definitely been requests for these again, but the extra maneuvering around the recipe prevented me from giving it five stars.

These are the only Scalloped Potatoes I will eat! I make them all the time I do suggest increasing the sause b/c Emeril's measerments just don't make enough. You don't need to double the recipe just increase each ingredients by a little bit...play w/it until you find what works for you.

I love Cheese Scalloped Potatoes and this is the best I ever had. Try different Cheeses for a different taste.

I made this for Christmas 2010 dinner and it was delish! I expanded the recipe (1 1/2 times and it needed 1 hour in the oven. I am making it for Super Bowl tomorrow... good winter comfort food that will surely be a hit.

Like others have mentioned - cooking time is inaccurate - I cooked for one and 1/4 hours. I used one cup of heavy creme instead of milk, added garlic and topped with blue cheese crumbles 15 minutes before I took it out of the oven. Those minor changes/additions made it a delicious side dish.

I thought these potatoes were great but only gave a four star rating as the cooking time stated in the recipe is inaccurate. My potatoes cooked a total of one hour and ten minutes (luckily I read other reviews first and planned accordingly. I baked them forty minutes covered and twenty minutes uncovered to develop a nice crust. I did another ten minutes in the microwave as they were not quite fork tender. I recommend this recipe.

I made this recipe as a dry run before I made it on Christmas Day for 20 people. It was ok....but I feel like it needs something. I am going to make it with some extra seasoning. I am definitely not overly happy with the way it came out as the recipe stated.

Great Recipe! Must cook for at least 1hr! Also, season the potatoes with some season salt or whatever you have! Also, add at least 1 full C of cheese to the sauce, makes it much better!!
