This is an excellent recipe that can be made even with just button/cremini mushrooms. I would echo others' suggestions--one serving should be half a chicken breast in half a puff pastry sheet (and it is plenty. It is filling, elegant, and truly satisfying. The mushroom-sherry sauce supreme is what makes it truly decadent.

Family called this dish "excellent" and raved about it for days. Tasted like a gourmet dish that must have taken all day to make but it was really so easy! The real shocker was that leftovers tasted every bit as good. (Heated in a convection toaster oven on the "Fan & Bake" setting so the pastry wouldn't be soggy. The only change I'll make next time is to cut the chicken pieces in half for more, smaller individual "pockets" as Marie did. Though the biggest eater in our family managed a whole one, one regular piece split between two of us was a full meal since it is pretty rich.

This recipe is excellent. I cut the breasts in half which makes more pastry wrapped chicken. My grandson always requests this when he and his friends visit. It is his favorite food. It is a little time-consuming but well worth it.

I was really excited to make this dish as i have never cooked chicken with pastry sheets. it did however fall short of my expectations. don't get me wrong - it was good - just not fabulous. i would recommend using small chicken breasts as well - mine were much to large to fit the shell. overall good, not great

We picked up fresh chanterelles and hen in the woods this weekend at a road side stand. This dish was easy, fast. The flavors were superb. This is a dish to impress your friends and/or savour your good fortune.

I have tried this many times and my family loves it. My son has requested this for his Birthday dinner this week.

This recipe was great, but I actually got the most out of the technique. It inspired me to stuff the pastry with different ingredients and make different sauces. Currently, my favorite combination is chicken with a spinach/ricotta filling in a tomato cream sauce...yummmm

This was just O.K. My husband said it tasted like "Grandma's Sunday dinner" - "Typical English staple food" (hubby is from England. We both could only eat a half because it is VERY rich. I don't think I will make this dish again.
