I made this dish for the family Sunday dinner, and it was terrific. My two little girls loved it! My 4-year-old helped me make the dumplings. It was easy to do. I used leftover pieces and parts from a couple roaster chickens we had a couple nights before. I'll make this again soon.

Best chicken and dumplings recipe I have ever tastest. Loved the combination of spices. The dumplings tasted like dressing.

This is my first try at chicken and dumplings and it was awesome. My husband loved and everyone at the office loved it. It's definitely a keeper to many other recipes I have gotten from Emeril and foodnetwork. I am looking forward to the sliders he did on one of his last shows.

Excellent recipe -- very much enjoyed making it. Next time I'll either use less or no tarragon, however -- it is a bit overpowering to the dish if you use too much fresh tarragon (which I did - oops. The green onion tops and parsley really add to the dumplings, though. Also, if this is your first time making roux (which it was for me, whisk constantly and be patient. My roux browned in about 8-10 min, not the 3-4 min as the recipe stated. You want a nut brown. Adds a wonderful flavor to this dish.

I made this for our Sunday dinner. It did take a while to prepare, that is fine with me, I like to cook and be in the kitchen, but oh my golly...way to much Thyme. It took over the entire dish. That was all we could taste and needless to say my husband tossed the whole dinner in the trash. I don't know if it would be ok without the Thyme, but with it I'll never make it again. I was so disappointed..it looked so good when he made it. Sorry Emeril!!

This is probably the best recipe for chicken & dumplings that i have found. The taste was just awesome. I only made two changes to the recipe. The supermarket was out of parsely so i had to use dried. The second is the kicker. 15 minutes for the dumplings is not enough. Give them 30. I made small dumplings and they were still not done after 15 min.

I looked like it would be alot of work but it wasnt too bad. And it is great on a cold, rainy Washington day.
