This gumbo was magnificent. I hadn't ever made gumbo before - was having a superbowl party and got brave and made it. The people at my party loved it.

I loved this recipe! It was my first shot at making gumbo and I nailed it! I am so thankful to emeril for sharing this recipe!

I thought this was just OK. It had a decent flavor but I thought it was a little greasy even after skimming off the top. I have other recipes which I much prefer (Mulligatawny Soup recipe. I don't think I will make it again.

I love Emeril, but to be honest, I thought this was mediocre and not worth the time and effort. The end result is OK, but I can cook many other things that taste better and take much less time.

Taste very good, not hard to make, just time consuming. Ray did not like seasoning. Just leave paprika out when you make new spice mix.

This recipe is well worth the time it takes to cook. I thought there was a little too much salt, but it wast still great.

This is a fantastic recipe. My husband said it is the best he has ever tasted. Far better than any gumbo we have had in a restaurant yet. The only variation I made to the recipe was to use boneless, skinless chicken breasts, since I had no chicken thighs, and adding 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder.

The taste of this gumbo is wonderful! I made it 2 days before I was to serve it so the flavor would be even better and my family loved it! It does take a good 20 min. for the rue to become that chocolate brown and it is sure worth the wait! I used the turkey sausage to cut the fat and calories and it was fine. I even forgot to cook the rice to serve it on and we still loved it, I think you can serve it either way. It is a keeper!
