Followed the recipe with the exception of using canned artichoke hearts instead of fresh. I think I will just leave the artichokes out next time (didn't like the texture and serve over rice.

Don't substitue a thing, this is a perfect recipe. I made it today for the first time and I loved it! I would suggest getting everying cut up and ready to go before you start that cooking process, just seems to make the steps go easier; I served it over rice and from the popular response I think I will making this one again. Thanks Emeril.....great recipe!!

I made this tonight for my husband and father-in-law and they both raved about it! I made it without the artichokes and tarragon because I don't care for them. For me, the sausage in this was a little too spicy for my taste but overall, it had a very good flavor. I served it with rice. My husband says that I *MUST* add this to the rotation!

It was pretty easy and had nice flavor. Mine wasn't quite as pretty. I served it over rice. I would make it again.

my husband, family, and I all loved this recipe. i prep the dish ahead of time and then make it for a quicker meal during the week.
We have ours with egg noodles. I also cube bread instead of fine bread crumbs for the top and occasionally use chorizo sausage.
i get requests to make it over and over, great!

Made this and then poured it over boiled red potatoes. My husband LOVED it. Would be great with rice too.

Left out the tarragon because I don't care for it, other than that I follwed the recipe. This one is definitely a keeper!

I really liked this filling recipe but a couple of comments. I poured the casserole over boiled red potatos which made it a little more like a meal and really filling. I personally thought it was a bit too salty so maybe skimp on a little of that as you go. I also added squash in when the mushrooms were called for due to an over abundance in our garden, it tasted great. Last comment would be to skip the bread crumb topping. I really don't think it added anything to the dish.

This is amazing. We left out the mushrooms because they aren't popular in our house and just added a little extra chicken stock for the missing liquid.
