The overall recipe is excellent, with one caution - consider whether there is a need to add red pepper to the onions and then again to the mushrooms and garlic. IMHO, the red pepper in the Creole Seasoning is sufficient for the dish.

I really enjoyed this recipe. I made it with four large (bone in chicken breast. Because I didn't have as much chicken as the recipe called for I took the meat off the bone after an hour and had chunks of chicken in the sauce, which worked very well. I cut the flour in half because of this but next time I would be sure to use a cup and if I had leftover after dredging the chicken I would add and cook off before adding the liquid ingredients...otherwise the sauce is too thin.

I am not great at following reciepes to a "t" but I only had to make one substitution since I rarely have everything I neeed. I used 1/2 marinara sauce and 1/2 fresh tomatoes. Worked out just fine. I ate both thighs myself before devoring a drumstick. I will definately use this again.

This chicken cacciatore recipe is probably my husband's favorite dish that I make. I've tried it with bone-in chicken pieces and boneless-skinless chicken breasts. It's very good. I would suggest removing the skin before dredging in the flour, as the skin makes it too greasy.

This is, by far, my favorite recipe... EVER. I made it for the second time last evening for my girlfriend's family, and they loved it. Use fresh herbs where the recipe recommends, and it's 10 times better. I used boneless skinless chicken breasts and thighs to make it a little easier. There is quite a bit of prep work, but worth every second. Highly... highly recommended. Oh, one more thing. The recipe says it serves 4, but I served 8 with it last night and still have 3-4 more servings left over. AWESOME!

I have made this recipe several times, and each time it comes out delicious! It is well worth the time and effort! If you happen to run out of noodles (and IF you happen to have any left over the next day, the chicken and sauce also go very good over rice!!!!!
Definitely a keeper!
